Hello green readers! Schools almost out! I absolutely cannot wait to graduate and start summer vacation. It is going to be a blast. With all our summer fun plans, and the heat, it can be easy to forget that we still need to be environmentally friendly. With the heat it is easy to increase out carbon footprint, so here are some tips on staying green and cool!
1.If you are having a summer or fourth of July barbeque, use propane instead of wood or charcoal. It burns much cleaner. If you just have to use charcoal try using a natural charcoal product to reduce emissions.
2.Another great way to keep your cooking green is to buy locally grown foods. This cuts down on the use of fossil fuels. It will reduce pollution and keep the air clean!
3.Make sure that although it is hot you watch your water usage. Water your plants only when necessary, and when watering your grass play in the sprinklers at the same time to cool off.
4.Find local activities to keep you busy. Walking or biking there will make your activities even greener. Try going to a park or even the zoo!
Hope these tips help you guys out. Have an amazing summer break!
