Hey readers! So I have always been sort of crafty.  One thing I loveeee to do is recycle old clothes into cool new things.  I’ve been doing this forever.  It’s a great way to get more use out of your things, and even make inexpensive gifts.

One craft I still do to this day is making funky pillow cases.  I used to be really into going to concerts and seeing new bands so I had tons of band t-shirts lying around.  I did not wear them anymore, but some of them were signed, how could I get rid of them!  So I decided to use them to make cool pillows.

One style pillow I did is a pillow that still looks like a t shirt.  First you turn the shirt inside out.  Then you sew the bottom , and arms of the shirt up.  Ask a parent for help if you are not experienced with a sewing machine.  Then turn the shirt right side out. Next, stuff the shirt with stuffing.  You can find this at most craft stores.  When your done stitch the neck of the pillow up. And that’s it! A new pillow instead of the old shirt you never wore.

There are lots of other ways to change it up so all your pillows aren’t the same.  If you have a small pillow and want a case for it, try cutting two squares out of the t-shirt, make sure they are a little bigger than the pillow.  Instead of stitching the side, close them with a bunch of safety pins for a cool rocker look!
