Hey guys! I hope you all had a great week and are enjoying your summer vacation.  This week I wanted to talk about driving.  I mean most of us are 16 or are going to be pretty soon.  Most kids that start driving do not know that there are plenty if ways to drive cheaper and drive more environmentally friendly.

One obvious way is conserving gas.  Believe it or not there are tons of ways to do this.  Most of us can not afford a new car this young, but if you can check out hybrids.  They are adorable and use so much less gas.  Although they are expensive, you will save so much money in gas it’s totally worth it.  For those of us who get the old hand me down cars or just sport older cars, there are tips and tricks you can use to use less gas.  One way is to carpool.  It seems simple but you will use half the gas.  If one of you has a more fuel efficient car, take theirs and just pitch in for gas.  Another simple trick is to roll down your windows instead of using the air conditioner.  Using your air uses more of your gas.  Also driving slower burns less gas so quit speeding!  All these are great ways to save gas, but the number one way to use less gas is… not driving.  If you need to go across the street or around the corner why drive?  Try walking with a friend or riding your bike.  You will get exercise and help save our natural resources.
