dekoposh Interviews Sweety High

Hello V.I.Ts.,

Have all of you seen the new Sweety High Web Series.  It is so amazing, we watched the first one and can't wait for the next one, we are hooked.  We had a chance to interview OMG the Co-Founder Veronica Zelle and some of the stars.  Here is what they told us.  Cool

Veronica Zelle – Co-founder of Sweety High, Sweety Web-series Creator/Writer/Director/Producer

Please tell us in three sentences or less what Sweety High is all about? dekoposh

Sweety High is a social world for girls, by girls! Sweety High combines original content with social media and gaming in a private, age-appropriate space. Veronica

How did you come up with the idea for Sweety High…what was your inspiration? dekoposh

I started out with the idea the web-series Sweety, which follows four BFF's as they navigate their high school experience. The idea for the site built from there. I talked directly to tween girls and really listened to what interests them. I set out to create something that would be fun, safe and uniquely theirs. I wanted to make an impact in these girls' lives so they would have a place to go online that's between Club Penguin and Facebook. Veronica

Where would you like to see Sweety High in five years? dekoposh

On the computer screen of every young girl who wants to be safe and learn about how to handle online media. Veronica

How can we the public get involved with Sweety High? dekoposh

Tell ALL the tween girls you know to sign up for Sweety High right now. Seriously, tell your sisters, friends, neighbors, cousins, everyone. Veronica

Please tell us what your dream is for 2010? dekoposh

My dream for 2010 is to help others, especially the girls on Sweety High, achieve their goals. Also, it's important to me that my family and friends are happy and healthy. Veronica

Let's Move - Michelle Obama

Let's Move...

We all need to do our part and here is the letter we received from the First Lady?  If you have not see the video, please view it here!!!  We love her:))))))))   Let's move V.I.T.s!!!  We can do this together.  Stop eating and do those jumping jacks...yes right now, Deko and Posh orders.  We would love to hear what you are going to do to be a part of "Let's Move".

Good Afternoon, I’m writing to share a startling prospect: due to rising levels of childhood obesity, our Nation’s youngest generation could actually face a shorter expected lifespan than its parents. That’s unacceptable. As Americans, we all work tirelessly to provide a better world for the next generation. As a mother, I can tell you that nothing is as important as a child’s health. The problem is clear. Over the past three decades, childhood obesity rates in this country have tripled. Today, obesity and excess weight threaten the health of one out of three American children. It’s time for us to act. That's why I’m asking you to be part of Let's Move! -- a nationwide effort to solve the obesity epidemic within one generation. Learn more here:

One Pimple is One Too Many - Teen Pregnancy
Hey Everyone!
How are you doing today? Last night were the Academy Awards! Congratulations to all the winners! ((Especially Kathryn Bigelow who made history as the first woman to ever win Best Director!))
Last night was also the first 'official' Jonas Brothers concert of 2010 which I was blessed with the chance to attend! It was a great show, Demi Lovato was their special guest, and they even covered Keith Urban's "Somebody Like You".

Today though, I want to talk about something very serious.
Teen Pregnancy.

  • Every year around 750,000 teens will get pregnant this year
  • More than 2/3 of all teenagers who have a baby will not graduate high school
  • Billions of dollars are spent taking care of teenage and their children and they are more likely to be in the poverty bracket

One Pimple is One Too Many by Ariel - The Academy Awards
Hello all!
How are you this beautiful Monday?
First I want to convey my deepest sympathies to any and all who were affected by the earthquake in Chile. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you! UNICEF, the American Red Cross and World Vision Disaster Relief are just a few organizations that are donating their time and money to help the people of Chile (and around the world)
((Haiti still needs our help as well! Yele Haiti is my personal favorite but there are many organizations you can give to that is giving Haiti the help it needs!))
On a lighter note: the entertainment world is buzzing with excitement because the Academy Awards are this Sunday! Now you may be asking, Ariel... how exactly do the Academy Awards relate to being an advice columnist? I'll tell you how -- for 82 years we've seen hope and dreams fulfilled.

Reading Room by Amelia - The Hobbit
Bilbo Baggins is your average Hobbit-- a small, often plump little person with large, hairy feet, living in a quaint house in a hill in a village. He enjoys his many meals and the quiet solitude of his peaceful life. Hobbits aren't much for adventure, you know.

One Pimple is One Too Many by Ariel - Love
Helloooo everyone! :)

Today I want to talk about love. Valentine's Day was a week or so ago and it got me to thinking about love in all it's various forms.

What is love?
((Baby don't hurt me. Don't hurt me. No more. LOL I had to. ;) ))

According to the first web definition, Love is:
"a strong positive emotion of regard or affection"

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it as: A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.

Reading Room by Amelia - Love, Ghosts, & Facial Hair
Hello, readers! How was everyone's Valentine's Day? I've got some more interesting stuff for you to read-- but, of course, what else would I be doing? :)
This week is about some more poetry, but I found this one quite interesting. Love, Ghosts, & Facial Hair is a novel told in a series of poems written by the characters themselves. Although the reading goes quickly in this style, the poems are cute and heartfelt, and give you great insight into the characters, more so than if you were just reading prose describing them.

One Pimple is One Too Many by Ariel - Passions
Hello beautiful people!
How are you today?

I have a question for you.
What are you passionate about? What are you skilled at or love to learn about?
Are you a figure skater? A football player? A singer? A dancer?
Are you great in math? Do you love to read?
All of these are passions, things that we love. And of course, what better career than doing something that you love?

For me, I love to write and I love movies.
My dream is to be a film producer who writes and produces movies.

I'm working hard towards my dream but sometimes it's easy to get discouraged! It can feel like there are so many people out there with the same dream. Especially when they're incredibly talented! It's almost like you want to think, "why bother?"
Well, I'll tell you why you should bother.

Win A Diamond Necklace In Our Ultimate Valentine's Day Giveaway

OK, so it's not exactly true that every actor in Hollywood is in the romantic comedy Valentine's Day, but it's close enough. With the likes of Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jamie Foxx, Topher Grace, Ashton Kutcher, Emma Roberts, Hector Elizondo, Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift, Eric Dane, Kathy Bates, Anne Hathaway, Queen Latifah and Shirley MacLaine starring in this story about romance in Los Angeles, it's pretty much impossible that there's not at least one actor you love in Valentine's Day. The series of interlocking stories about life and love on the romantic day of the year pretty much makes an ensemble movie like Love Actually look like My Dinner With Andre.
