Classical Example on why you should not post personal information on your Social Networking Pages...
A “Sweet 16” birthday party Dec. 18 for two Ferndale High School girls was overrun by uninvited gang members who heard about the party on Facebook, according to Kitchen.
An uninvited guest, believed to be a gang member and to be between 18 and 20 years old, fired one shot that struck two boys inside the hall, Ferndale Lt. Will Wilson said during a press conference Monday at the Ferndale Police Department.
Each of the victims also were uninvited, but there is no indication they were armed, Kitchen said.
Kitchen said information found on Facebook and other social networking Web sites, including Twitter, become invitations to the wrong crowd.
“Once you put (information) out (on the Internet), it's out there, and you can't take it back,” Kitchen said. “That's how the ‘bad guys' found a way in to the party.”
The shooter remained at large and the two Ferndale law enforcement officers said they are using every avenue to find him, including the Internet.
